I start planning our boy's birthdays really far in advance too. It just seems to take SO much stress off me when it comes time for the party. I have boxes to keep birthday supplies I buy/make and those pinterest boards are a great help! A barnyard theme sounds like such a fun party idea!

That's really impressive. We are working on this with my three year old right now and I'm really hoping my 17 month old catches on. It's SO much easier when it isn't being forced.
Thanks for the tips on the different products to try!

I agree wholeheartedly! My little guy is two also, and while he does have bad days, he also proffers the butt-hugs, pats, and running-up-to-you-just-to-give-you-a-kiss goodness that are so easy to forget in the midst of a tantrum. I actually tell myself to remember those sweet moments in the middle of a tantrum. It reminds me that the tantrum is temporary and but a small percentage of the joy we regularly have.

They say that parenthood, especially of young kiddos, is all about the parents giving, giving, giving and the children taking, taking, taking. Perhaps on the surface, yes, especially in the newborn stages. After all, the parent has to dress, feed, wash, and everything else for the little guy not to mention having to work and pay for everything.

But I also truly believe that kids actually give way more to the parents than the parents receive. Unconditional love. Challenging you to be a better person. Teaching you patience. Always having a limitless source of happiness in such simple things as a smile or a hug or a funny thing they did.

I love the two year old age, as strange as that may sound compared to the old adage of the terrible twos. They're like little babies turning into little kiddos!

How fun...they're getting so big. You can bet they'll be best friends (and maybe best enemies at times) but they will love having each other and miss each other if one is asleep or gone! My siblings are best friends (besides my husband and my mom). You have a lot of fun to look forward to!! :)

Thanks Elaine! I just used a thick brown box I found at my work's recycling room. If you go to Costo or other wholesale stores, they have fruit boxes and those are pretty sturdy too.
