Another Celebration at the Hospital

Lately, so much of my blog consists of my placenta previa and hospital bed rest especially since my days are filled with nothing but sleeping, eating, and watching movies on Netflix. Normally, I would just blog about how we moved to a different room last night. The biggest and nicest room in the hospital finally got vacant so the nurses moved us right away. More

Celebrating Father’s Day at the Hospital

Since I’ve been stuck in the hospital for a week now, we had no choice but to celebrate Father’s Day here. It was very low key yet fun and memorable especially because I’m also 34 weeks pregnant today!

I am so glad that Jordan and I were able to create our Father’s Day gifts for his daddy and grandpas last week before the big bleeding episode. I took him to a local pottery studio to paint some coffee mugs for his daddy and 2 grandpas. He had a blast getting paint on his hands and putting  hand print on the mugs! Days after we did the mug painting, he would still point to his hand asking me to put paint on it. He’s so adorable! :)

When you’re a little girl, you imagine everyone’s dad is loving, caring and protective – well at least I did.  But the older I get, the more I realize just how lucky I really am.  I hope this doesn’t come across as bragging but I just really believe my dad deserves some recognition for putting up with a daughter like me.  My simple words can in no way express my gratitude for all he has done for me and my sister and now for my son. My dad is truly an inspiration to me. The love and guidance that he gave me made me into the person I am today. I’m forever thankful for God blessing me with my dad.

Growing up, I remember my mom always tells me that if I’m going to marry someone, I’d have to pick wisely – that if I  could only pick someone who is as half as loving as my dad, then me and my children would live a happy life. I thought that person would be so hard to find but thankfully, he came into my life when I was least expecting it and I’m so proud to say that I picked the best father to my children! Needless to say, I’m forever thankful to God for blessing Jordan and Jelly B with such an amazing dad.

New Year’s Celebration Prep

There isn’t much turnaround time between Christmas and New Year’s, so it’s time to start thinking about the foods that you want to ring in 2011 with! Growing up, my parents always had big New Year’s Eve celebration at our house and there were many dishes that made appearances year after year. Filipino classics like BBQ skewers, sweet spaghetti, chestnuts, all kinds of fruits, palitaw (Filipino mochi cake), etc. So now, I’m thinking of making all those food for New Year’s Eve but laziness is creeping up on me. I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll get into the cooking mode by tomorrow so I can start grocery shopping!

Christmas 2010

We had a wonderful, magical, blessed Christmas! It was all around a fantastic 4-day weekend, spent with those we love, enjoying great food, and counting our many blessings.

Holiday Cards

As I was sitting on my chair at work today, staring at a cheese danish on my desk (contemplating whether to eat it or not), I realized that next week is Thanksgiving already! Yes, the holiday season is upon us and it’s time to start thinking of your family’s holiday cards. More

Baking Marathon for Jordan’s 1st Birthday

A few days before Jordan’s birthday party, I bought ten pounds of butter, huge bags of flour, a dozen eggs, several bags of sugar, and new bottles of almond & vanilla extracts. I went through my recipe box and decided to use a different recipe for sugar cookie instead of my signature sugar cookie because I’m afraid it’s not going to stay fresh as long as a regular sugar cookie.

After many hours of baking, I finally ended up with about 160+ cookies! It took a very long time to pipe and frost each and every single cookie but it’s all worth it in the end. Our house almost turned into a mini bakery with all the stuff I’ve been making but everyone loved it because the house smelled so good! More

Cute Little Pumpkin

When the Small Fry’s first Halloween rolled around last year, he was too young to take out trick-or-treating but we dressed him up as a caterpillar anyway. More

Jordan’s First Birthday Party

The birthday party post is finally here! I know it’s long overdue but I just didn’t have time to write since we went to Hawaii after his party. Our Small Fry’s first birthday party  was a great party even though he wasn’t feeling too well. He was running a slight fever from his 12-month shots the day before so we didn’t get to take as many pictures of him smiling. More

Polka Dot Overload: Jordan’s 1st Birthday

Last Friday, our Small Fry hit the big 1 YEAR OLD mark! I honestly can’t believe how fast this past year has gone by. I still remember so clearly the day that I gave birth to him and it was truly one of the happiest days of my life. Jordan has been such a blessing in our family and he brings us so much joy each and every single day. We honestly can’t get enough of him and his silly little self! It’s been so much fun watching him grow and learn new things. He is such a happy baby with a constant smile on his face. More
