Breastfeeding

Weaning & Milestones

Since my little Jayden is almost 1 year old, I decided to start weaning him from the breasts because I know it could take a while before he get used to it. It took me a couple weeks or so before I was able to wean his big brother so despite all the usual nostalgia and mixed feelings about it, I started to wean him.

Surprisingly, it was very easy to wean Jayden! It turns out that he was quite willing to let go of the boobs and doesn’t usually think twice about accepting a bottle from me.

For the past few days, he’s only been drinking pumped milk and formula out of his bottles. He also started to just walk instead of crawl around the house. He waves goodbye and point to what he wants or where we wants to go. He is growing up so fast, and I realized that I couldn’t hold on to him as a baby much longer. I tear up every time I look at his baby pictures and I just wish he could stay a baby a bit longer…

Nearing The End of Breastfeeding

I have to admit that before the Small Fry was born, I was sure that I would breastfeed until about 6 months and then I’d give him just pumped milk and formula. But here we are at 8 and a half months, still breastfeeding. More
