Woobee Blanket {Product Review & Giveaway}
What’s a Woobee?! Exact words that my husband uttered two years ago when I told him I wanted to get a Woobee for the Small Fry. Well, for those of you who’s asking the same question right now, it’s a blanket that has a water-resistant material on one side and soft material on the other, so it’s ideal for draping over the infant seat, stroller or baby carrier on a typical Seattle rainy day. It has grosgrain ribbon ties on each side to keep it in place.
I think he balked a little at the price (we paid $70 in 2009) but this item is one of those “you get what you pay for” items that is so versatile and useful for years. We used it a lot when Jordan was little since he was born in the fall, it was always gloomy, cold & rainy in Seattle. This blanket is really water resistant and cozy on one side which makes it an indispensable piece of baby gear.
During the summer time, we use the Woobee as a play mat or a ground cover, since it keeps little tushies clean and dry even when the ground is damp. We have even used it as a changing mat at the park several times.
Last weekend, we took the boys to a pumpkin patch & of course, I had to use the Woobee with the baby carrier to protect my little J from the cold wind.
I realized that in an age when so many products don’t live up to their advertising claims, Woobee does everything they say it does so I contacted Rain or Shine Kids to tell them how much I LOVE their Woobee blanket.
Now, they are going to send one of my lucky readers a plush blanket of her/his choice!

I got this umbrella from MoMA that’s black on the outside, but has a picture of a clear sky inside. Peanut seems quite fascinated with the “clouds.” :)

I’m new to Seattle and still getting used to the weather…I bundle my Lo in a sherpa which he gets too hot. So I really wish we had a woobee especially when I’m wearing him. I’ve been carrying a blanket and holding it.around him.

We LOVE our RoSK sun cover for our sunny AZ walks. Love how easily it attached to my ERGO and protects my baby. Now that it’s getting cooler, I would love to try one of these. Just this morning I was trying unsuccessfully to wrap a blanket around my baby in the ergo. REALLY want this!
Oct 27, 2011 @ 10:10:51
I have a carseat cover that has a cute little hole where my baby’s head is. BUT…I’d love a woobee :)

Hi!
At the moment, I bundle up my little guy and wrap a blanket around him if we are out and using the stroller. If I am carrying him in our ergo, I bundle him up extra (homemade babylegs but unfortunately he won’t wear a hat!).

When any kind of crazy weather is going on snow, rain, hail, sleet, cold, hot anything really I try too avoid carrying my baby out… but there are days when you have no other option… so when it rains I wrap her up in a blanket and put hoodies and hats on her head…. and when its snowing or anything winter we have too wrap her up really really good with warm blankets usually i stick them in the dryer untill we get just about ready too leave and I take them out and let them sit long enough to not be too hot…
Thanks for the giveaway

My first baby is due Feb. 14th. This is the first I’ve heard about this blanket but think it would be very practicle. Having a baby in the winter and living in Canada, I need lot’s of ways to keep him warm.
Oct 25, 2011 @ 06:56:37
Sunscreen when it’s nice, try to keep them inside (or at least with warm/waterproof footgear) in more inclement weather.
Thanks for the chance to win!

I’ve been looking for a blanket just like this! I carry my LO in our ErgoBaby all the time, and this would be perfect for covering him when its rainy and cold out. I usually just use a regular baby blanket, but since they’re not waterproof, baby can get wet and cold.
Oct 20, 2011 @ 18:44:35
We usually wrap them in a fleece blanket, and hope it stayed tucked under the carrier.

We usually just use a blanket and run! I love rain or shine kids.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 18:06:49
When I had my first child, I only use Bird’s eye cloth for her since its humid in the Philippines.I wouldn’t mind spending this much for this great blanket. I’m due to deliver my 2nd baby before thanksgiving day, I think it would be worth it to invest since its cold and we do get snow often here in IL.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 17:12:51
What a great idea! we usually just have to use the canopy on the carseat to protect from rain and the put a thin blanket over the top of the seat. It doesn’t work well at all, it either gets blown away or gets soaked.
We don’t use thicker blankets because the few we have she uses to lay on the floor with or are covering her body up in the carseat.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 16:28:07
Wish I had heard of this blanket before, will they send the prize overseas??? We usually just use a regular blanket/jackett to cover the baby from the cold or rain, and the Aden & Anais swaddle blankets to cover from the sun.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:57:54
Normally we try to remember to bring a blanket but sometimes it’s a towel or someones jacket to protect the little ones…
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:41:00
I still don’t own this fantastic woobee blanket…..I love them !!! it is for multiple use and save my baby from sun and cold wet weather. I just gave a birth on Aug and this would be fabulous blanket for any baby.I am planning to visit my family in Japan and this could be very useful since it gets very cold and snow over there. It is going to be must have baby gift on my list from now.I love love to own them SOON !!! :)
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:40:53
I’m a first time mom and was just telling my husband that we needed a new stroller blanket. My son was born in July and we’ve only used the muslin swaddle blanket when taking walks outside. we live in Seattle too but this Woobee blanket sounds perfect. I just bought an oversized fleece vest to wear over when I wear my son in my ergo. I hope I win!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:31:33
Usually use a blanket which doesn’t stay on very well. Would love to win this!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:21:28
I would love this blanket. I love to do outdoors activities with my kids. This would be a great blanket for my 3 month old!!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 15:14:49
We love our Woobee!! It is so fantastic! Last winter was a doozy, and it kept our little peanut warm and dry in the carseat, in the stroller, and in the front pack. The ROSK sun cover is a great alternative for warm weather, too. It’s become my go-to baby present for my friends having babies.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:59:03
How great. Right now we just drape a receiving blanket, but it gets wet, doesn’t work well, and then has to be washed. This sounds like a great solution. Too bad I haven’t heard of it earlier.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:51:02
We usually drape her with a receiving blanket but it always gets blown around. Its more a pain in the but than any help really.
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:50:15
I live in Las Vegas so until now the weather has been nice enough to use a simple blanket to cover my baby. However, this product would be ideal to have in the winter!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:48:59
I usually put a light weight blanket over our son’s stroller to keep the sun out. The problem is it falls off with the wind. Then my sister got me a ROSK Woobee fleece and we use it all the time. We drape it over the stroller for the sun protection and tie it to the stroller on his lap in the winter! Such a great product! I would love to get a plush woo bee!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:47:33
I live out on the Peninsula, we need a blanket just like this for our crazy rainforest weather!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:42:01
This is neat. I don’t have anything to keep my baby from the rain… just his carseat! I definitely need one of these!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 14:38:00
I’m a FTM & this is my first fall/winter with my LO. I would love something like this for walks & stroller rides!!!
Oct 17, 2011 @ 17:45:34
We just use a couple blankets to protect our little one. This blanket would be awesome to have for the upcoming winter!
