Hospital Bed Rest
I just talked to my OB this morning and it’s official, she’s keeping me here in the hospital until my scheduled c-section on July 18th which is exactly 4 weeks from now. The past week wasn’t easy and I know the next few weeks won’t be either but I’m taking it one day at a time. I’m just trying to get into the mentality that I will probably never ever get the chance to read and blog as much or sleep (or at least try to) as during the bed rest. Most importantly, every day I spend in the hospital pregnant is 2 days less my baby will be spending in the NICU. Disappointment and worries won’t change what is going to happen so I’m just focusing on positive thoughts knowing this is what’s best for me and my baby and that God is constantly watching over me and my family.
I’m glad that Swedish Edmonds hospital has some great gourmet food to choose from instead of the typical bland hospital food. For lunch today, I had Apricot Dijon Pork with mashed potatoes and green beans, Cesar salad and carrot cupcake! YUM. Now that I have to be on hospital bed rest, I wonder how much weight I’m going to put on for the remainder of my pregnancy?

I was a fan of the Evergreen Hosp food when I delivered. They’ve come a long way, haven’t they? Lucky… you get dessert every night! My pregnant brain looked at this picture and went, “yummy… cupcakes.”

I’m glad you are at least safe! Staying that long in the hospital would probably drive me nuts, although the food does look wonderful! Try to enjoy all the blogging and reading and of course sleeping!!

Thanks for keeping us updated, Joy. You’re right, you need all the rest that you could possibly get, and if your doctor deems it necessary for you to stay there for the next 4 weeks then who are we to question that? Hehe. At least you are getting the care that you need, especially with your loving and supportive husband and parents there with you and your family! Totally agree with you on the food pictured there, though. Good food is always a plus, LOL! Much love, my friend. :)
