Nap Nanny Recall
I thought I would share for any mommies out there who bought a Nap Nanny should be aware that a mass recall has been initiated for the first generation products. We don’t have one, but I considered getting one when I was trying to get the Small Fry to sleep better at night. I know they have gotten more popular in the past 6 months, especially for reflux babies so please be aware of the recall especially if you’re using yours in a crib (which is not recommended by the manufacturer and stated in the product manual).
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a recall of 30,000 of the popular baby recliners after the death of a 4-month old baby girl who died while strapped into a Nap Nanny. According to the CPSC website, an incident similar to this had already taken place, again when the Nap Nanny was used in a crib. On that occasion, the baby who was harnessed in fell over the side of the Nap Nanny and became caught between the recliner and the side of the crib, suffering a cut to the forehead.
To learn more about the recall please view the Nap Nanny Recall Information Page or the CPSC official release. There are instructions on what to do if you have purchased one. The instructions differ based upon which generation you have which is determined by when the item was purchased
