Is Your Crib on the List?
Another crib recall was annouced today and this time, they are recalling more than 2 million cribs, most of them drop-sides from SEVEN companies! Recalled brands include: Child Craft, Delta Enterprise Corp., Evenflo, Jardine Enterprises, LaJobi, Million Dollar Baby, & Simmons Juvenile Products Inc. (SJP).
If you own any of the above brands, the Consumer Product Safety Commission advises you to get free repair kits from the manufacturers or to get rid of your crib.
I’m so thankful that when Michael and I were shopping for cribs for the Small Fry, we just really looked at the stationary ones with the simplest and most basic design because we figured that the drop-rail cribs could be potentially dangerous.
However, even if our crib isn’t on a recall list now, it could end up there someday. So I’m making a note to myself to make sure that my husband and I check the crib regularly to be sure that all the pieces are still tight and in working order. A faulty crib can be replaced, but not our precious Small Fry.
So to all the mommies out there, please make sure that you check out the article at the Consumer Product Safety Commission because I’d hate for your baby to end up being one of those awful statistics because of a missed recall.
