Day Care = Constant Runny Nose?
As the symptoms from one cold begin to go away, here comes another. Las Friday, I noticed that the Small Fry has started to get runny nose again and over the weekend, he was so congested! It really sucks because we all know that viral illnesses do not respond to antibiotics and needless to say, we are always left with treating the symptoms (with cool/warm mist humidifier & plenty of fluids) and waiting for them to go away on their own.
However, as much as I hate seeing my baby with runny nose and such, I know that children build immunities by being sick and then getting well. According to his doctor, day care germs can speed up the process that would otherwise take place in the first years of school. So whether parents like it or not, I guess daycare germs do have their place in a growing child’s life. But it still sucks!

My first daughter had everything her 1st year in daycare. (She started at age 1) Pink eye, which mommy caught, earache, stomach bug, colds and more colds. But now when the other kids are sick she hardly catches anything.
Of couse now we are on # 2
