More on Birthday Party Planning

It’s almost mid-September which means I have just barely over a month to plan the Small Fry’s first birthday! It just snuck up on me because since my last party planning post, I have been very busy with work and haven’t really made too much progress on the rest of the party planning (though I’ve been constantly thinking about it). However, I did manage to design and print the invites, but I’m still cutting card stocks and I’m hoping to start to put them all together tonight so I can start sending them out by the end of next week.

So that just leaves a to-do list about a mile long. I still have to finish the cupcake tower that I started building last month, find cupcake liners that matches the color theme, create more DIY party decors, etc. I definitely want to try to keep this a stress-free party but knowing my obsessive compulsive self, I’d probably still get stressed out a bit as the day draws near. Besides, I’m a working mom who’s always running against time. Thus, I hate leaving things to the last minute and making myself crazy, but for some reason I still always end up cramming at the end.

I honestly couldn’t wait to have this party not only to celebrate my son’s first year of life but also to celebrate the journey my husband and I had made together as parents.
